The route to a wrinkle free skin

There are many techniques including surgical, semi-invasive and non-invasive in nature that claim to remove your wrinkles by 100% But, there is a large difference between the claimed truth and actual reality. Most of the skin treatments come with many discomforting side effects and long period of waiting before the actual effect could be visualized on your skin. The downtime required before you could show your face to the world is another problem.

BOTOX


A very popular method, The botulinum toxin is obtained from a bacterial species and the toxin when injected into the skin paralyses the facial muscles causing wrinkles and thus provides  a smooth and refreshed appearance to the skin.
The results may appear within a few hours to several days.
The side effects faced with this therapy are many inclusive of burning sensation at the site of injection, headaches, an artificial appearance of the facial skin.

Chemical Peels

In this method, acid solutions in varying strengths are applied as a mask on the face. When this mask is removed along with the acid mask comes off the superficial layer of skin and fresh wrinkle free skin emerges from beneath. Glycolic acid peel is one such chemical peel.



The results are seen after 6 months to 1 year, and this method brings about smoothening of only some wrinkles though it is effective in reducing the pigmentation, blemishes and sun tanning.
The side effects associated are redness and swelling of skin accompanied with pain.

Hyaluronic acid fillers

The Hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin of the face, it helps in cushioning the skin and moisturizing the skin. The effects can be seen immediately but last for 6-9 months only.
the side effects include the redness, swelling and mild pain of the skin area being treated.

Laser Therapy

When the skin is wounded, collagen is produced, this collagen is essential for repair of damaged skin and generation of healthy, tightened skin. Results appear in about 3-6 years and at most last for an year.
The side effects resulting from this therapy are redness, swelling of skin and formation of blisters on the skin.

Radiofrequency energy

This technique works by heating up the inner dermis while the epidermis is kept cool and moist with the help of  a high intensity frequency of energy. The results appear within 4-6 months and last for about 2-3 years. The side effects are pain, persistent skin redness and inflammation.

Microcurrent

This is the technique where electrical current of magnitude one millionth of an ampere is applied with massage using electrode pads on the skin and the result is radiant, tightened and rejuvenated skin. The results are seen immediately after the session and are long lasting with regular  sessions.
There are no side effects.
